If you ask any woman out there, she will tell you at least one accessory that she cannot leave her home without. Being a woman myself, I can agree with that. Not all women have the same list. The items may vary according to their moods, seasons, or urgency, but I can assure you that there is at least one thing that has to be on every list. Without it, we just won’t be that confident. Leaving for anywhere without it might feel like we are missing a piece of ourselves, and our energy is evidently dialled down in its absence. Let’s check out some of them!
Bags
Jaishree Tambi
This one is definitely a no-brainer. I could never leave my home without a bag, even if it is a bag as small as a pouch. I mean, where else are you going to keep your scarf, your sunglasses, and your emergency makeup? For me, handbags are the ultimate mix of fashion and practicality. A great bag can make any outfit stand out. Not only do they hold all of your belongings and make them easy to carry, but they also give your outfit the pop it actually needs. Normally, you need your bag to match your outfit. After all, a business bag is not for Saturday night clubbing, nor is a clutch one for work. Deciding on the perfect bag to opt for is as significant as picking your outfit for the day. So, think carefully about the style, shape, and colour of this requisite accessory before you venture out from home tomorrow.
Lip Gloss
Saumya Singh
I cannot leave my house without wearing my favourite lip gloss – Pink Lolita by Maybelline’s Baby Lips. Be it any weather or even mood, you will always see me adorning my lip gloss. I do not clearly remember when I started using it, but the light pink tint that this lovely lip gloss offers becomes necessary for any occasion. Also, the one thing that I love about it is its texture which is not too greasy nor very dry. It is just perfect to glam up my look for any party, normal walk, self-pampering, or even Zoom calls nowadays. Even when I have to apply lip colour, I apply this lip gloss first and then the lip colour to provide a very smooth finishing look. However, there is one more coloured lip gloss by Maybelline, again in the Baby Lips series named Highline Wine which is my other favourite lip gloss from the brand. Without wearing any one shade from either of the two and carrying them, I never leave my den.
Scrunchies
Safiya Khanam
I do not know, and I do not understand how girls manage to walk around in the scorching heat with untied hair. I literally think that is a superpower.
No matter how many times I style my hair and promise myself not to tie up and mess the outfit look, I end up using a scrunchie within minutes of stepping out of the house. And it might sound weird, but girls have asked me multiple times if I had an extra scrunchie or a clip, so that just renews my instinct to always stuff an extra scrunchy in my jeans pocket! Also, Pinterest had recently made wearing scrunchies as a bracelet an aesthetic, so I guess I have been in line with fashion aesthetics.
Perfumes
Anushka Dave
I cannot leave my house without wearing any perfume. Perfume is the ultimate accessory. The power it holds of turning impressions into memories is too mighty. My obsession with perfumes has been with me since I was very young. I own multiple scents for various occasions. For a day out in the scorching sun, White Musk comes to the rescue. For making a good impression in a conference hall while presenting, Woody Notes with a slight mixture of Amber turns out fruitful. You can never be fully dressed without a good perfume on. It does nothing but elevates your personality in wondrous ways. My favourite perfume is Guess Dare by Guess. It was a gift to me on my birthday, and I was more than happy to have it. I have always been complimented about the way I smell, and I love receiving them every time! I have a pocket perfume in my bag every time I leave the house, and leaving home without any scent on gives me nothing but sheer terror.
Neckpieces
Madhurima Roy
A fashion item that I cannot go without is my lucky charm neckpiece. If I’m not wearing it, I like to carry it in my bag. It was gifted to me by my grandma, and luckily it goes with every outfit that I put on no matter what! It is studded with small pretty stones, which used to be rare during the early ’90s. It’s my personal favourite because it’s really old and was passed on for many generations (gives me fairy tale vibes). I have it now, and it’s completely on me to give it to whoever I want to. I’m a big fan of chunky jewels, and when it comes to this necklace in particular, it ticks all the boxes. Neckpieces have always created a fashion statement, and I’m a sucker for low-key fashion and always try to put on outfits that are always out of the box or rather simple. And this necklace enhances everything I wear all at once.
Lip Balms
Anushree Acharya
When it comes to dressing up, my style can be described as comfort-chic! No matter what I wear, I like to adorn myself with things that suit me and are comfortable at the same time. If I am asked about that one fashion accessory I can never leave home without, it will be lip balm! They are great to use during winters to avoid lips getting chapped and dry, and during summers, they help protect the lips from harsh UV rays. I am not a big hoarder of lipsticks, so a tinted lip balm works for me. On some days, I like to mix it up with a lip balm and a lip tint on top of it. It gives a natural look (which is my all-time favourite) and helps keep the lips plump and hydrated at all times. Lip balms are economical, practical, and now, fashionable too – they come in all shapes, sizes, colours and fragrances – making it a trend that is likely to stay forever.
So what about you? What is your favourite piece of accessory? Let us know in the comments down below. Looking forward to seeing what completes your missing piece!

Thanks for sharing! Actually you are right. The thing that I’ve noticed about accessories is that they always make for great conversation starters. I can’t tell you how many times random people have walked up to me and asked me about an accessory I have on.
