10 Marvel Side Heroes Who Won Our Hearts

Marvel Studios, is the biggest superhero franchise of the world. The studio has given the Gen Z a generation of mind blowing superheroes. However, these superheroes will always be incomplete without these great characters.

Marvel films are known to have the greatest superheroes of all time. Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Black Panther and so many more characters have made what Marvel is today. However, a film is not just about the hero, but also all those around, who makes them a hero. 

Bringing together, ten of the most amazing characters of Marvel films who deserve all the credit for making the side heroes as memorable as they are.

Valkyrie

The Norse warrior might have spent the majority of Thor Ragnarök drunk and angry; however, when it came to fighting against the Goddess of Death, all hell broke loose. In the latter part of the franchise, Valkyrie also proved to be a great successor to Thor, as the King of Asgard. She might not be the lead for the films, but her presence was a great addition.

War Machine

Since the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie, War Machine has been a constant support for Iron Man. James Rhodes is an air force colonel, who portrays bravery, loyalty and empathy towards other film characters. War Machine or later known as the Iron Patriot, deserves all the attention and praise he got, and more!

Okoye

If someone needs one word for the phrase, “a badass-kickass woman”, you can call her Okoye, the general of the Dora Milaje and the head of the Wakandan armed forces and intel. She was commended for her bravery and loyalty to the Black Panther, both on-screen and off-screen. She made a giant rhino stop in its tracks, which none of the other characters can say.

Bucky Barnes

Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier first appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger as a loyal and supportive friend of Steve Rogers. Later, he appeared in Captain America: Civil War, as an assassin. While the difference between the two appearances was as different as night and day because of Hydra’s influence, still he saved Rogers’ life. Bucky was always a loyal partner who met with a misfortune.

Wong

A sarcastic, strict and super smart librarian who protected all the knowledge that mystics had to offer. A loyal disciple of the Ancient One and a subordinate of Doctor Strange in his quest to defeat Dormammu. Though his role was very far from the spotlight, his presence made an everlasting impression for the audience.

Falcon

Ex-serviceman turned superhero. A friend to Captain America, wings to Avengers and a barrel of laughs for the audience. Sam Wilson, though stayed behind the main cast, his role in the MCU franchise made him shine. He brought in characters like Sharon Carter and Ant-Man, into the main timeline of the series.

Cyclops

Cyclops or Scott Summers is a mutant capable of generating concussive force-based, red-coloured beams from his eyes. He has fought for peace and equality between humans and mutants ever since joining the X-Men. Though his character was overshadowed by his girlfriend, Jean Grey, because of her unlimited powers, his character still proved to be a great addition to the franchise.

Heimdall

Heimdall is the all-seeing and all-hearing deity and the sole protector of the Bifrost in Asgard. He is a guardian to Thor, Loki and all the people of Asgard. He bravely sacrificed himself to Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest villain, Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War to protect Thor and the Space Stone (Tesseract).

Maria Hill

As a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, Hill has had Nick Fury’s back on more than one occasion, making her a valuable supporting character. She has proven to be a loyal soldier and friend in every film she appeared. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she was the only one who knew that Fury faked his death.

Mantis

An empath with the ability to sense other people’s feelings and alter them, Mantis was a supporting character in the Guardians of the Galaxy. Ego raised Mantis and later she got recruited as a member of the Guardians. Though presented as a weak link of the Guardians, Mantis was able to control Thanos’ mind to help Iron man pull the gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War. Her skill was mind-blowing.
